As you've probably heard, a world famous rapper known as XXXTentacion recently passed away on June 18th. The 20-year-old man was shot up close by in the south of Florida when he came to a motor garage.
The rapper, real name Jahseh Onfroy, had problems with the law and was, in his own words, depressed. He was in a juvenile prison for gun possession, until recently had been under house arrest and was awaiting a lawsuit at the time of his death after he had slaughtered his then pregnant girlfriend. He was also accused of trying to buy witnesses and he was charged with more than twelve serious crimes.
After the death of the famous XXXTentacion, two colleagues quickly announced that they had nothing to do with his death. The rappers Soldier Kidd and Soldier Yojo were reported to be on social media near the site of the shooting in Deerfield Beach and they were accused of murder on the Internet.
Charisma
XXXTentacion's appeal was mainly due to his great charisma, his passion for expensive brands, but especially his hip-hop and emo-rock balancing songs on his debut album ’17' and his successful successor '?'. Raw aggression mixed with grim self-pity. Songs in which not the words but the feeling play the leading role. About depression, alienation, heavy painkillers and identity crises. 'Very difficult to understand, but very easy to listen to', says XXXTentacion himself.
Controversy
On musical level he had real success: his latest album debuted on number one in the Billboard album charts and his hit single 'Sad!' was on the Hot 100 list for seven weeks. Recently, XXXTentacion was still in the middle of a controversy, when Spotify removed all music from the rapper as part of the new 'anti-hate policy', but soon returned to it after negative criticism.
That is what the world star Kendrick Lamar thought. The rapper and Pulitzer prizewinner was one of the many famous fans of XXXTentacion. Better advertising can be found as a young artist with a troubled youth hardly wishing. Even though XXXTentacion was not exactly afraid of looking for attention. Take his beef with superstar Drake, who accused him of having stolen the flow of his number KMT from XXXTentace's breakthrough number Look at Me.
Also the American DJ and producer Diplo had contact with Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy this week, as the rapper was really called. "He told me this weekend that it was his goal to have Skrillex and me finish his album. I invited him to Los Angeles and was curious if he would show up. I loved this kid, he had so many plans.
Please, don't overwork yourselves. Take a break once in a while. Drink a cup of tea, some TV with the fam, and overall enjoy life because you never know when your time will come.
Rest easy, Jahseh.
'If I die a tragic death and can not live up to my dreams, then I hope that children will see my message, make something of themselves and turn my message into something positive. If I ever die, I want to make sure that my life has made at least 5 million children happy. I hope they find answers in my life, despite the negativity around my name.'
😢
Never heard of him
