Do you love live music? So do I! I've gladly spent up to $150 to see some of my favorite bands in concert and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one.
How Can You See Great Live Music For Free?
Since I love live music I appreciate seeing street musicians anytime that I get the chance. There are some very talented performers and, talent wise, often little separates them from their famous counterparts.
These street musicians can make a visit to any city center a really magical experience.
Seeing this type of performance is free if you want it to be but why not support these artists by adding something to their contribution hat or canister. After all you've just been entertained!
I Saw This Duo Last week in Galway Ireland. Grooviculous!
During my wonderful Irish getaway last week there were different acts playing every few hundred meters along the main street of Galway. I stopped to enjoy several of them and I was so impressed with the funky sound and the joyful countenance of the band Grooviculous!
I will be posting a link to this article on their facebook page and I invite them to join us on Steemit to have fun, get exposure, interact and earn! We will support you and help you to pursue your art!

I absolutely love street musicians. My first real experience with them was when I went to visit my cousin in Boston when I was sixteen...or it might have been seventeen come to think of it. Anyway, she was attending Northeastern University and had learned the city well that year so she made an awesome tour guide. We went to Harvard Square and there were street musicians on every corner, it was fabulous.
I am a strong believer in supporting them, I can't pass them by without putting money in their hats and guitar cases. I hope you are successful in your attempts to bring them aboard here!
Wow what a great story! I'd sure like to see more featured here on Steemit!
Thanks! And I most certainly agree :)

Am amazed that the drummer was using cook wares? Pans?
awesomeness galore! good find Old Dog
Yes, but it all depends - if they're really making music or if its something awesome and sometimes someone even has a soulful voice.
depends .. sometimes - its noise - that would suck ..
Do you try and support them form time to time?
My husband doesn't care - he always does - cause he said - they're doing something in return - not just begging - they're trying to entertain - I have a saint for a husband so I fell in love with him :D
and the one in St. Mark's Plain - the orchestra in the huge resto there - wowza .. makes you feel Venice's soul .. have fun out there Old Dog!

I love it! Thank you for this. And yes, ★ WE ARE GONNA BE LEGENDS
https://steemit.com/steemit/@blackwidow7/legendary-steemit
Yes Legends!
One thing I miss about New York is the sheer volume of artists performing at the different subway stations. I remember a Chinese man performing arias at the Union Square subway station, a violinist from Julliard at the Grand Central Station subway station and so on. I donated each time I came across them as they performed.
Since I've moved to Colorado, I've followed a local artist I first met at the local Farmers Market. It was awesome to see her grow over time from a shy girl into a true performing artist. Recently she recorded some demos of her original music and a video as well.
In the end, there is something raw and real about street musicians busking which cannot be captured in a concert hall setting.
What a great comment with your personal experiences. Thanks!
I never could pass by street musicians or dancers. It's so cool, it charges with a positive and raises the mood. I like people who share positives with others.
NIce!
Thanks for sharing the love of music and the well kept secret of street musicians magic!
Over the course of my life as a major music "melomaniac" (lover/maniac or melodies and music in general, I have spent much more time watching street performers tan actual shows. What a treat it has been and never miss an opportunity to indulge in their grooves.
The first video you shared with us was in deed very groovy and seemed to be improvising right on the spot. Real music, live creation in the moment. I love it! I don't know if you are familiar with the World Busking musicians and their very best? It is definitely worth checking out!
Thanks again for this opportunity t share on this subject and for another quality post that can only help us all. All for one and one for all! Namaste :)
Thanks so much for having a look @eric-boucher! i know that you are a musical being with a kind and happy heart!
I also feel you as having a very warm heart! Some would say it takes one to know one... ;) Thanks for your kind words. Namaste :)
Art doesn't need any platform, in fact its platform in itself!!!
Lots of art on display here on Steemit!
I always support them. It's an amazing feeling to be swayed by good music out of the blue. :)
So true! Thanks for visiting and commenting!
I love the article! The website World Street Music I've bookmarked!
Yes, when they are good, I certainly stop and listen in.
Absolutely! But it should be with some kind of quality, or when the music itself is not of quality, the performance shall be to a certain level and/or fun.
Yes, surely. The good ones.
Mini orchestra in the Paris subway hall from one track to another. They where absolutely amazing. Students from the best classical music school in Paris.

Thanks so much for your comments and you make some very good points! The Paris musicians That You saw must have been fabulous!
Absolutely amazing.
I also liked the musicians at the waterfront in SF, playing on buckets and stuff, but they were good and got not only my but but the crowd moving as well :)
Sounds like you get around!
I little bit :)
One more time, we both agree 100%! I love live music very much.
And this poor bassist on your video has not enough money for shoes.
So come on laddies and lads of Ireland, put some coins into the hat!
In fact I went to his Facebook page and he's always shoeless.
Ah....anche io ho una piccola collezione di foto con i musicanti....mble mble...mi hai dato una idea! Grazie e buona giornata!
Attendo con piacere le foro!
We don't really have any where I live... more's the pity! I would be happy to support them. Being a musician is a rough choice of occupation... I know! I once took a job playing lead guitar in a country band playing weekends at the American-Lithuanian Veterans Club in Nashua NH, just to put food on the table ($25 a night)
Lithuanian Club...wow. Did you eat Kugela? Have you entered the open mic contest?
I was given a dead mike! I once had a beautiful woman I was trying to impress tell me: "You play guitar beautifully, but you have without a doubt the worst singing voice I've ever heard!" OUCH... I haven't gone near a mike since!!!
We'll let you off of the singing and you can just play the giutar!
I wrote a story a while back about my a capella singing group, The Atonal Nasal Groaners. Me and a couple of guys from work (who also can't sing) decided to piss off the rich people by singing Christmas Carols in the nicest part of town... One guy threatened to call the police!!!! I'll stick to guitar!
There is some great talent out there, doing "street gigs." It was always one of the things I enjoyed about summer in Copenhagen-- the main pedestrian street in the city center always had lots of street acts; some of them really good. Even here in our small seaside town we get some on the weekend during tourist season... they definitely "add something" to the feel and atmosphere of a place.
You are always making me feel like I need to visit Copenhagen!
:)
Estas Tonne - The Song of the Golden Dragon
Great funky jam by the way, they are a good band, I'm going to check up on them :)
Great talent. I saw him when I was researching for this article.
Those dudes in Galway are superb. Makes a change from some of the more dreary singer-songwriter types you see about. I wish I had half of their talent.
Yes they were a lot of fun!
Man those guys in the subway were good!!!
Yes beautiful harmonies. That's the result of having to audition for a spot!
I love and respect street musicians. Toronto a few regulars I always tossed a few bucks at when saw them. Dalian it's pretty much illegal to do stuff like that in public. When I visited Hong Kong a few years a go there was a rock band outside the subway station covering the Beatles which was pretty cool.
btw do you play the harmonica? For some reason I can see you sitting around a campfire rocking one.
Thanks for your experiences. I play the giutar and I love to sing!
I live a good street band. It seems like you had quite the great time of it @kus-knee!!
I will surely return. Congrats on your tremendous success @meesterboom! You are the latest Steemit home grown super star!

Do you think that they add to a cities atmosphere?
Yes.. I think so
Do you try and support them form time to time?
Yes, I will
What is the best street act that you have seen?

I am really enjoying your posts! I used to be a street musician when I lived in NY and also in London. Great memories!
Wow, what an experience. I'd love to read a post about it!
Thank you for the suggestion. I don't feel like much of a writer lately, but if I can find a good cup of coffee 'round here, I'll give it a shot!
