Today's artist is the Jersey singer Donna Missal.
I'm taking as a referee her work available on Spotify.
Donna Missal starts playing on the speaker like a soft, soothing singer, her music is presented as a crossover between old and new Pop Music that then translate into an incredible aggressive Layer of her rasping voice and powerful notes.
Production is actually really fresh, well arranged and thought, probably inspired by R&B and Rock singers; and her vocals are dynamic and evolving in every track.
You won't find just a Down pitched Alessia Cara an actual person behind her music.
I'm personally really into her more Rock driving music, not because I prefer the genre but it fits really well with her spiky attitude in front of the mic.
Tracks like Keep Lying or Sick really deliver powerful moments, clipping miced Vocals and colorful choruses to the point that if feels like a mainstream production and hits you sometimes really hard and other times with enough groove to impress their style in your head for several days.
I'm personally waiting for her to drop an album and I hope you'll give her music a chance because it does promise good things for the future.
Three good Tracks:
