I was introduced to these musicians and many others by Woody's son Arlo in 1963. That's right, we were teenagers. I became so captivated that I began learning to play the guitar and banjo. I'm still playing a little bit but it has become difficult to find anyone willing to just sit around and jam and I do play at a modest professional level. I've given lessons over the years but now no one asks.
So thanks for posting this. These two men wrote powerful songs which are full of lessons for today.
From Woody
"Now as I look around me it is mighty plain to see
This world is a strange and funny place to be
The gambling man is rich and the working man is poor
And I ain't got no home in this world anymore"
