Becoming better; and the value of the self.

in #music6 years ago (edited)

While company can be nice, does make life more comfortable it may also lead to situations in which you find yourself at odds. The company of others can and does sometimes end up a distraction!

You might decide to try being a loner some day, sometimes being alone is a magical experience, you find yourself valuing the smallest things. The soil, flowers and trees become something you would invest time into experiencing. That you may decide to inspect the significantly insignificant details on a leaf, in a flower, or the dark luxurious textures of bark.

That is essentially what the self is, who you become, and what you do when alone. What you do for yourself and no one else. The self is not being rich, or poor, but it is all about making "you" matter.

It can be amazing how different an experience "alone" can be!

Please feel free to take a gander at my other, longer posts. 😉😉😉😉:)

Good post, try to lengthen it to about 600-900 words and give it more body, it's a bit thin still. Your personal insights are great. It's good that you can appreciate solitude and can appreciate nature in all its detail. The yogis would retreat to a solitary place to avoid bad association and there they would practice actual meditation techniques, which are taught in the Veda, Sanskrit texts on yoga and meditation. Bhagavad Gita is a good one to begin with if you're seriously interested in meditation and discovering the self. Let me know how it goes.

Wow, you have some very stunningly introspective posts. I grew up in South Africa. Not that I know it well, but there are a lot of terrible events happening there. The world may soon look much less pleasant if people don't work together. Nothing wrong with teamwork, I just think having your own thoughts is important.

Hey you know SA from childhood, interesting. Yes it's hectic here by global standards.

Fully we should have our own thoughts based on personal experience, for sure. Good halo you're building Shaun.
