RE: Music Monday (Erm Thursday, Sorry) Ep. 5 [Why Are You Still Alone?]

in #music7 years ago (edited)

I vacillate between:

Queen - Somebody to Love

and:

Yes - Owner of a Lonely Heart

but ultimately I fall back to:

Cat Stevens - I Love My Dog

One of my not so famous Kehlyn quotes is, "Be the person you would want the person you would want to love to love. And then love that person."

I tried figuring this one out and I think I got it. But then I realized I didn't. Any way to dumb it down?

For me, this quote below is what I try to live up to. Whether or not it lands me a mate, I end up with a best friend.

In my opinion, no relationship is ever a waste of time.
Dating is mostly trial and error.
Lots of error.
Again and again until we finally figure out what we don't want for ourselves.
Does that mean our exes are all bad people?
Less often than we realize. They may just be someone else's Mr./Mrs. Right, and we may have helped them come closer to figuring out who that is.

Wise Words.

Personally, the idea of a single Mr./Mrs. Right seems improbable when you consider the millions of people you'll never even come in contact with.

Speaking of Valentines Day...

The Gory Origins of Valentine’s Day
The holiday began as a feast to celebrate the decapitation of a third-century Christian martyr, or perhaps two. So how did it become all about love?

Sort:

Let's see, how do I put this.. You know that person you would want to love? What would you want them to love you for, if you ever met them? This isn't about creating an alter-ego to ensnare the person of your dreams, but more about discovering and accepting what makes you you, so that you have a better understanding of who you really should be dreaming about, and who would inevitably be a nightmare. But as @weirdheadaches stated, chances are they will pop up in your life when you are too engulfed in what makes you happy to even be dreaming of another person. Chances are they will also be doing what makes them happy. Chances are you can also do things together that make you both happy. Chances are you won't have to leech their precious vitality just to have your own. And maybe, just maybe you won't drive each other to complete madness. And knowing that soulmates are a crockpot of shit, you might just survive, even if the relationship doesn't. Because you are your soulmate. And now you have all the time to yourself. And your dog <3

I love this. The post. This reply. All of it.

I also think that modern day Valentine's Day is an accurate celebration of the decapitation of one's own head.
