Gene & Ashlees Eighties Saturday Weekend Tunes! 🎸 1985 DailyJams! & 1987 BonusJams! The Cure & Dramarama!

Picking tunes from the softer side of post punk & rock & roll on this eighties Saturday! Going for the catchy melodic side of post punk! We each pick a different band and pick two tracks off each those records for our DailyJam & BonusJam! We both limit our choices to 1985!
Ok we are changing it up! Ashlee reminded me we did this band combo not long back so instead of picking one record we will pick one song off of two records from each band! That way it’s a never done before combo of tunes! So we each pick an album from 1985 for our DailyJams & we pick off both bands 1987 follow up albums for our BonusJams!

Ashlee picks The Cure & there classic record 1985’s The Head On the Door. Picking the song “Close To Me” for DailyJam! Then moving into the huge followup record 1987’s Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me! Picking the classic tune “Just Like Heaven” for BonusJam!
I (Gene) pick the band Dramarama and start off with a great song off there debut 1985 record Cinema Verite. Picking the song Anything Anything for my DailyJam! Moving on to the 1987 follow-up record Box Office Bomb, I pick the album opening track the song “ Steve & Edie” for my BonusJam!

The Cure - Close To Me

The Cure - Just Like Heaven

Dramarama - Anything Anything

Dramarama - Steve & Edie

Thanks for swinging by! Drop a comment below and let us know whatcha thought about the tunes!
The Cure…legendary Band!
My cousin was one of the biggest Cure fans going, went to three or four Cure gigs with him. Legends!
Good work

I enjoyed listening to these songs because I like old songs. These songs are from before I was born, but they are quite classic.
Robert Smith has a place in my musical heart and playlist.

Guys, you won’t believe it, but I was walking in the park this morning and The Cure, one of my favorites, just popped in my mind. I decided to go on a The Cure binge tonight and now I find your post… strange, isn’t it? I leave you here a personal favorite of the 1980s; this song is now 40 years old, and they say this is when The Cure found their voice and is somewhat a predecessor of Just Like Heaven. Hope you like it.
