Chizzy might be on the cusp of becoming THE artist you run to when wanting a cohesive project packed with features. Connections II definitely doesn't suffer the dreaded sophomore slump.
The quality of the overall sound really does stand out as well as the wide array of artists. You have trap artists blending in with more mainstream sounding artists on one project and it actually works.
The main idea behind the whole Connections concept is to bring artists together and Chizzy has to be commended for doing it perfectly. He knew exactly who would work well together. You'd swear he has a sixth sense when it's comes to music.
The biggest track on the EP in terms of mainstream appeal might be Make a Wish as it basically ticks all the boxes of a radio single. Earl Grey will have trap heads bobbing their heads for months to come and even has that stoner appeal to it.
The absolute best song on the entire EP is Fair. The song is an obvious standout, besides boasting BlaQ-Slim & Ceaser Supreme in a "who killed who" moment. The one song I'd definitely back vehemently to deserve the visual treatment would be this one.
The EP doesn't just cover hip-hop; as Chizzy actually delves into the Pop realm with what could be a sleeper hit single alongside the angelic voice of Tara on Take The Time. Lorenzo Francisco really anchors the whole song together on production.
The EP is rounded off beautifully by a second Cozmik feature where he delivers another GOLD verse. He's delivery of the Certified hook on the opening track is perfectly placed. He definitely deserved a second spot on a stacked EP.
The short length of the EP makes it easy to listen to which is always a positive in my book. Here's hoping that the Connections series continues to deliver as solidly as this one.
