The Ubuntu Philosophy
Ubuntu (Zulu pronunciation: [ùɓúntʼù])[1][2] is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity". It is often translated as "I am because we are," and also "humanity towards others", but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity"
source
The term is born in South Africa, but it's a common philosophy across all the continent.
At its core, it's about sharing and caring, and defines what it means to be human.
Love and respect embodies the spirit of Ubuntu, humanity is a quality we owe to each other on a daily basis and can solve today's social disparities.
'A person is a person through other people'
Desmond Tutu
Ubuntu as a political philosophy could very well represent what we are all fighting for, here on the blockchain, the redistribution of wealth that will establish balance and equality in this world, but without undermining individual uniqueness and differences.
What is Musicoin?
Musicoin is a music streaming platform built on the blockchain that supports the creation, distribution and consumption of music in a shared economy. Listeners can stream songs from independent musicians on our platform absolutely free and without ads, while musicians are compensated more fairly than major music streaming platforms in the industry.
Isaac Mao(CEO), created Musicoin as a way to address the problems associated with the current global music industry, the Big Three (Universal, Sony , Warner) own 80% of the global music market, and the average musician is supposed to compete against these giants, making a ridiculously low revenue on Spotify or Pandora while the Big Three thrive in this controlled economy.
As for 2018 Independent labels only represents 12% of the market, the tables are slowly turning thanks to initiative of "sharism", which enables artists, producers, and musicians to earn on Musicoin more than anywhere else...
Universal Basic Income
Most of the existing music streaming services pay out less than a penny for unsigned artists per play. As of June 2017, Spotify and Pandora paid out $0.0038 and $0.0011 each while Napster paid out $0.0167 per play. Musicoin pays out $0.0200 per play, and it is more than 18 times the amount of Pandora’s per-stream rates.
source
Thanks to the Universal Basic Income (UBI) pool, Musicoin can reward its artists with the highest per stream rates in the music industry.
The revenue from the PPP (pay per play) is not affected by the fluctuation of the value of $MUSIC(crypto currency) as the system adjusts the amount of $MUSIC per streaming based on the current market value of $MUSIC.
The population of Africa around 1.2 billion people
1 Nigeria 181,563,000
2 Ethiopia 103,764,000
3 Egypt 89,125,000
4 Democratic Republic of the Congo 77,267,000
5 South Africa 54,957,000
6 Tanzania 51,046,000
7 Kenya 45,533,000
8 Sudan 40,235,000
9 Algeria 39,670,000
10 Uganda 37,102,000
The blockchain technology and initiative like Musicoin will be a key factor in the development and the empowerement of Africa, and its musicians.
With a potential market of more than 1 billions users, with a culture that lives through music, it's a matter of time before Isaac Mao's philosophy of "Sharism" is adopted "en masse" all across the continent.

Great reading! Respect!
Thanks @soundph good to see you here!
Hello @edprivat, thank you for sharing this creative work! We just stopped by to say that you've been upvoted by the @creativecrypto magazine. The Creative Crypto is all about art on the blockchain and learning from creatives like you. Looking forward to crossing paths again soon. Steem on!
That's awesome, I love what you guys are doing and the website is top notch too!
I am curator for @artzone too, and we have a Musicoin contest happening at the moment, if you know any Musicoin artists, don't forget to share.
Steem on brothers, and thanks for the push!
That's awesome @edprivat! Thanks for sharing. I've always loved that philosophy too...what a great way to look at the world ❤️
Hey there @lynncoyle1 how are you?
Yeah, this is still a philosophy that I try to learn and follow but it's not in my nature, I have to be honest, I am still completely westernized even after 8 years of African life.
The act of helping people in so many ways become a very selfish act, it releases endorphin, we tend to emphasize on that amazing act of generosity that we just did, we post about it, we take pictures to prove that we are not phonies, but the real act of kindness happen away from blogs and social media.
They happen when nobody is watching and where it's really needed.
Sometimes an act of kindness can be humiliating,The other day we were walking down the streets from the shop with the children (the middle and upper class drive cars, they never walk in South Africa, weird), and an old white lady stopped by with her car to try to give us apples...I know it's just a simple gesture...
I kindly refused because you never know if they can be poisoned ( I kid you not), but most importantly we felt a little bit insulted with my wife, do we look like we can't afford an apple?
We decided to let it go, but as you see, it's all about perspective...
I'm doing well, thank you! Took some time off, as you know, but I've got my head back on straight now :)
So true! The true testament of a person's character is what they're doing when no one is looking :)
hahaha your story made me laugh actually ... but I know it's not really funny. It's like my friend, the first time she went to SAfrica, and she brought candy and junk food for the kids, but was so embarrassed and ashamed when she figured out that the kids she was seeing were scrambling for bread and real food because they were starving.
Prospective.
Well would you look at that, the guitarist/singer/producer working on his second album gave us another taste of his writing skills! Happy Friday, sir, very well written article you got here! Thank you.
Lol it's barely requires skills, but it comes from the heart for sure!!!.
I hope you're good buddy, preparing for Costa Rica!!!
@edprivat I loved how u connected The 'Ubuntu Philosophy' and isaac mao's Musicoin philosophy in your post, plus I learned about 'Ubuntu" awesome stuff! Respect
Thanks @djlethalskillz, I think the more I start understanding what the blockchain technology is about, the more i realize that it's about sharing and protecting ourselves, almost redefining a 2018 tribe connected with a hive mind.
