Butterflies and bumblebees
your face is a melody I hum underneath my breath
on my way with the better part of today left
to show you life I know it will mean my death
and the warm wet nights
just like lips that linger
I walked and walked and never thought to stop
or blow it a kiss goodbye as it slipped through my fingers
and it doesn't make it any better
but It dont mean I have to care
it doesn't really change anything for me
on my way and i'm taking those baby steps
sweet are the sidewalks for which I have slept
to show you life I know it will mean my death
and the warm wet nights
just like lips that linger
I walked and I walked and never thought to stop
and blow it a kiss goodbye as it slip through my finger
and it would't make it any better
and it don't mean I have to care
I should be satisfied stealing the air I breathe
run with the tumbleweeds stuck in the gutter life
you belong to the bumblebees you belong to the butterflies
Chris Jeffries Homeless Romantic is an album dedicated to the traveling artists and musicians who will most likely not make enough to survive but will understand priceless bits about humanity and the world we live in. Chris Jeffries has lived in his van for the better part of a decade, surviving off of music, and traveling the world. Driving through the border of Mexico Heading south driving around aimlessly for six months before finally succumbing to E. Coli poisoning and Amoebas and driving back home. Hitchhiking from Germany to Sweden in two days with a tooth infection. Eating garbage and sleeping outdoors, or for the fortunate, a nice van. Respect to all of those who put beauty before there own well-being.
