The Plan - Updates & Questions

Hello everyone!

We are so incredibly happy with all the love and support we are receiving on this wonderful platform. Especially the love we've received on the #openmic hosted by @pfunk & @luzcypher. When we joined Steemit we did it as a trial. We wanted to see what all the hype was about after Chris' cousin @lolosarts recommended it to us. Soon after, a wonderful Steemian called @scuzzy was kind enough to show us the ropes and put us on to things like Discord and Dsound. We will always be grateful to nice people like this who help, expecting nothing in return. Fast forward to now, we're on here actually getting our music heard and connecting with a bunch of other great folks from all around!

Before we joined, however, we were already on our own path of the Indie musician. We had already released 5 singles, one of which was featured on Apple Music's Beats1Radio with Ebro Darden. This same song landed us an interview with none other than @indiemusicplus who were really the first real Indie Blog to show love, something we will always have in our hearts. You could imagine the joy we felt when we found them on here too! Though these singles were very fun to make and to this day still some of our beloved songs, we had a back catalog (most of which you can hear in demo form on our soundcloud page: https://soundcloud.com/break-out-the-crazy) which still hadn't been released officially for sale on any platform. This is why we decided to put together an EP with a few of the favorites from that pile. These 4/5 songs are being remixed and remastered for optimal sound quality and are all in a genre of their own (hence our group's name) since they were never really intended to form part of an album with a concept, simply just songs we wrote. This is usually how we approach songwriting, which is very liberating and fun for us as you could imagine. The new EP will be named after "Pause Rewind" a favorite song of fans who have regularly seen our live performances here in NY. We felt the title fully encapsulates what it is we're trying to do with this small collection of jams from the past.

Anyway, now comes the part where we throw some questions at you guys to see what you think and help pave this journey with us. We tried uploading our 1st single/video "Hold On" (which is also up on Youtube) to Dtube and Dsound so we can have all the same stuff everywhere but didn't get a lot of traffic going to them. We're currently using @atomcollector to help get some traffic there and to our other music links (we highly recommend it if you're an Indie artist). It is working, little by little, but it is working.

Question #1 - Should we continue to upload all our other music to Dtube/Dsound even if they aren't getting many views/plays? Or should we keep our Dtube/Dsound content Exclusive to the Dtube/Dsound/Steemit network?

Question #2 - Could we sell our upcoming EP - "Pause Rewind" and make it available to purchase with the Steem currencies/Bitcoin/Ethereum/$Indie/Musicoin? Should we? How exactly would that work?

Question #3 - Do you enjoy these kind of posts where we talk a bit or should we stick to simply musical content?

Question #4 - We also have some videos of past live performances, should we upload all this stuff to Dtube even if it isn't new?

Question #5 - Which hashtags or bloggers should we tag aside from #openmic and #music when uploading new music posts?

That will be all on this one, we hope to get some responses. Anything will be greatly appreciated as we are new to this and want to make the most efficient use of this growing platform. We really feel that this is the beginning of a big revolution and we are proud to be a part of it. Thank you all!

Stay Crazy!

-Chris & Katya

P.S. We will not be joining in on the Open Mic this week as we have been busy with some gigs. Also, tomorrow we will be flying to Los Angeles to perform at the premiere of the new movie "Overboard" (remake of the classic romantic comedy with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell). We will be singing and playing a song titled "Lejos De Ti" which is not only in the movie during a pivotal scene but is also included in the movie soundtrack. We didn't write it, it was written by the person who brought us into this project, the veteran producer Andres Levin. We're super grateful to him for inviting us to form part of this. It should bring some new listeners and exposure to what we're doing, hopefully. The soundtrack isn't out yet but is available for pre-order here:

As soon as we get back though, we'll get right back into the open mic with some more original music we can't wait to share with you all!

To answer question 5: musicdiscovery is a often used tag the last weeks. To answer question three. I love a combination of posts with music and a chat. It's about engaging with the community, so a big plus for me..

apart from that, you are some original artists...big kudo's !! enjoying your music... Have fun in LA.

Thanks so much Peter! :D

Happy to see you guys getting more love around these parts, well deserved! With steemit, dsound, dtube, dlive, and all the growing apps around them for artists...we're finding it's a much more rewarding and supportive ecosystem.

The "gravy" of this new frontier is more earnings as the antiquated systems like tunecore and others continue to fade into the distance.

Word up. Thanks for the feedback and the resteem!

Oh, oh!
and by the way our "collab" :D is ready in case you missed it:

I accidently upload twice cuz im not used to uploading on dsound.
Hope you like it (:

Just heard it! Wild! Thanks for doing this we appreciate the love. We gotta admit though the reversed chant is a bit eerie lol. But good work!

yep... I have to agree the context doesn't really ask for it, anyway that's what it became.
Thanks peeps,
I wanna hear more from you!! :))

Happy to see that, great going

You should defintely continue uploading your stuff, and yes you may include your older performances too, you can make a post about those, it's yours, no worries.
(@dsound and @dtube tho is still quite laggy at times..)

Yes you can sell your stuff on dsound, the whole thing is very simple:
After uploading you can set a "buy" button instead of "download" then after every purchase you'll be paid on the uploder account in SBDs.
(Although I've never tried to sell my stuff there, you can give it a go)

Every kind of original content is welcomed, you could totally share things about yourselves, what's going on, what are your plans etc. or whatever idea you come up with. For example when you go on a trip like now to LA, you can make a post about that, take a lot of nice pictures and tell it as a story in #travel.
These kind of materials are gold and maybe even @curie or @ocd will bat an eye on you.

Keep competing in openmic and look for other steemit contests, music curation programs, use resteem services like @resteemable, @resteembot, @hottopic.
Right now I can't really suggest any more steemains, curators or services, as I was off for the past year, so I have to cath up. Basically I'm doing the same thing that you should do after you came back from LA. Talk to people, surf steemit posts, promote your stuff.
If you do these things consequently your blog will explode sooner or later.

I wish you the best of luck and a ton of success,
I'm looking forward to hear more from you.

STEEM ON!

Thanks so much for these suggestions. We greatly appreciate it!

Hello! I'm glad to see you here on Steemit. I found your music on the Creative Show on MSPwaves radio. The Steemit Music Alliance is a great place to showcase your music.

The posts with talking are my favorite, and I like to read the lyrics. Dtube and Dsound imo are a waste of time right now. Most Steemians include sound cloud links embedded so it can be seen in the post.

Here is a link to the SMA Discord. They have all sorts of contests and collaborations for musicians on Steemit. If you are not already there!! Can't wait to see you on Open mic!
