Once Kanye, Kim were in San Francisco for a Kanye performance when they decided to stop by the ‘American Idol’ set. Kanye surprised the judges with an audition where he rapped his first verse from “Gold Digger” acapella.
Kanye stated, “I just wanted to do something original. It has one of the judges names in it.” He was of course referring to American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, who is name-dropped in the Late Registration track’s verse.
Once his audition was over, Kanye was given the golden ticket to Hollywood where he scream “I can’t believe it” as he ran around the room.
