First of all, it is necessary to start with that my first acquaintance with this group happened in the music record store when I and my like-minded person were looking for the Radiohead plate which they were going to give solemnly to a friend on his birthday. Even then I was struck by the quality of the recording, from Joy Division which I had never heard before from any group. At first it seemed to me that the most likely thing was that the record itself was already used before it got to the store, it's a normal practice for such a department of goods, especially those that are left in the original cover and have as few defects as possible ... But now this is not about that !! A bit of history ....
Ian Kevin Curtis is a British musician, poet, vocalist and author of all Joy Division lyrics. He was recognized as a cult figure in the history of rock music and was repeatedly called "the godfather of post-punk and gothic rock." Joy Division is a British vocal-instrumental quartet, the founder of genres post-punk, new wave and gothic. Of course, one can not say with certainty that their songs can be associated with some warm and vivid memories, as most of them are depressed and few will be forced to leave a smile on their face, but nevertheless the amateurs listen to the roar of the guitar, which was unscrewed to full capacity, I can safely advise this group. And now a few interesting facts that I could find!
About Love Will Tear Us Apart
The title of the song is inscribed on the tombstone of the soloist "Joy Division" by Jan Curtis.
During the recording of the song, a young band from Ireland appeared in the studio, the participants of which wanted to discuss with the producer the release of the single. They had the opportunity to observe the work of the Joy Division, which made a strong impression on them, and influenced further work. This group was a rock band U2.
The text is written under the impression of the complex relationship of Jan Curtis with his wife Deborah, associated, in particular, with the turbulent relations of Curtis and the Belgian Annik Honore. Jan and Deborah had a child by that time, and his wife demanded a divorce.
Of course, the logo of the group became not unimportant for me. This is a series of endless lines, which, as on the graph, curve in different directions and, I think it's cool. Such a logo can be associated with mountain tops, with vibrations of strings on a guitar with sea waves ...
