Matt is a true bandcamp artist having released a plethora of albums independently on this platform, I think it's over 50 by now. Matt is known for playing in Chicago-based band Zelienople and many other. His solo works are in the vein of Zelienople but show some more experimental approach. "Sweetness in 5 parts" is another example of the craftsmanship of this guitarist: slow, relaxing but also mysterious drone-folk based soundscapes on electric guitar and washing synths.

Ulaan Passerine is one of the many names by which Steven R. Smith releases his works (Ulaan Khol, Ulaan Markhor, Hala Strana are others). Just like Matt Christensen Steven is a prolific solo-artist releasing mainly experimental music drawing influences from psychedelic rock to jazz to folk etc. As Steven is an instrument builder as well he applies more of them in his music. On his "The Landscape Of Memory" album you can hear violin, cello, acoustic guitar, organ and more. If you like pastoral music about barren landscapes, split feelings between desperation and hope than this one is surely recommended. Outstanding stuff !

While I'm writing this it is for the first time this winter really cold outside here in the Netherlands. A perfect moment to stay warm inside and listen to this excellent debut album from Winter In June (hopefully not !). Deep, icy electronic music with minimal techno influences as well. It's quite dark music actually, just look at the song titles. A soundtrack to a post-apocalyptic world where only a few humans survived. But I like it !

SYNE is a new alias of UK artist Dennis Huddlestone. Under his '36'- moniker he has already released quite an impressive batch of electronic/ambient releases but with this SYNE project he carves more into the techno/dance field. So for once, leave your headphones off and put your speakers on !
