Green Day- "Basket Case" cover (with a touch of clarinet)

in #music7 years ago

hi, I hope you like this "not-so-punky" version! For my grandma (she was listening to me when I was recording this vid) it sounds a bit folky- country- like. The guitar I'm playing here is my lovely Cort X1- my very first electric guitar that my dad bought me after I finished primary music school (on piano!). At the time I believed I was meant to be a punkrocker, and this guitar was perfect. And "basket case' was the very first song I've learned to play using powerchords. Now I'm more into different styles of music, but I still love GD tho. This video I've made during easter break, in my old room, with my old guitar (I love this one, but H-H pickups are to much for the stuff I'm playing now- however it doesn't sound that bad here), covering old song that I love. It was a nice time travel, but with some present aspects. And I've recorded clarinet already in my flat in Gdańsk, so it's trans- voivodeship cover!

Your usual sweet perofrmance, another fab post.

I love your rendition of this song. Thank you for sharing. I liked the clarinet solo, and your grandma's chair solo was a nice touch too, lol :)

hahahaha well, it's a talent to play chair, right?

Absolutely! Though I hope your grandma won't mind me saying you were clearly the talent here. I'm a relatively new follower, but I look forward to hearing more of your music soon :)
