Talking fungi.

If the division of organisms that we call mushrooms, or mushrooms, are grouped scientifically, they fall into the kingdom of fungi. These are a group of organisms with very unique characteristics, and scientists are constantly taking steps to conduct research in this regard.

A series of recent research has revealed that mushrooms communicate very quickly between their cells as well as with each other. They communicate using electrical impulses, and it has been found that their 'language' has about 50 distinct responses. Usually, a bunch of mushrooms are formed based on a single mycelium. A mycelium is a filament-like network within a single fungal body. This can be roughly compared to how the neurons in the nervous system of the human body are arranged. It has now been discovered that the electrical impulses emitted by a mushroom travel through the mycelium to other mushrooms related to that fungus.

At the beginning of the research, Adamatsky inserted electrodes into the substrates where each fungus was growing, thereby capturing the electrical impulses emitted by the fungi in different situations, and worked to study their strength and duration. Among the fungi he used for research, the gill mushroom had given the best results.

Gill mushrooms meet their nutritional needs by digesting wood species. When the growing mycelium of these mushrooms hits a piece of decaying wood, it emits a very intense electrical impulse. Adamatsky says that it is not yet possible to properly say that the generation and transmission of these electrical impulses is compatible with human speech, and he has revealed the facts that it is being compared with other message transmission methods in the animal world.
