Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them.Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success. What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.
Every day that goes by you either move closer towards achieving a goal or you move further away from that goal.
If you take specific step, you can be assured that you are moving towards our goal. If you do nothing, you are moving away from the goal.
By being still, you lose momentum, and the level of inertia of our current position increases.Sometimes we may ask God for success, and He gives us physical and mental stamina. We might plead for prosperity, and we receive enlarged perspective and increased patience, or we petition for growth and are blessed with the gift of grace. He may bestow upon us conviction and confidence as we strive to achieve worthy goals.Everyone has a purpose in life and a unique talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.
Review your goals twice every day in order to be focused on achieving them.
Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance.Following these steps will guarantee that you will make progress towards achieving goals each day:
1•Spend time visualizing your success
You can't swing with hesitation; you can't try to steer the ball to the flag; you can't worry about that water hazard as you take the club back. You have to pick the right club, visualize the shot you want to hit, and then focus on that shot until the ball is gone.
As part of gaining a clear picture about your goal, frequently take time visualizing yourself achieving your goal.
Get as detailed as possible in your mind, even taking the time to write down your goals in significant detail.
Whenever you find yourself getting discouraged go somewhere, quiet for a little while and use that time to visualize success in your endeavors
If you can visualize the whole of spring and see Paradise with the eye of belief, you may understand the utter majesty of everlasting Beauty. If you respond to that Beauty with the beauty of belief and worship, you will be a most beautiful creature.
Inexperienced personal development teachers always tell you to visualize, but often in a tragically limited way. They tell you to visualize nothing but victory. But high-achievers know that it's even more important to visualize themselves at the point where they want to quit, and then see themselves working through the struggle.
2•Associate intense pain with the idea of failure
The second step is to associate immense pleasure that will occur when you achieve your goals. This can be a natural outflow of the visualization process in step two.
Consider how you will feel when succeed. What will it be like? How much joy will you have? How will you celebrate?Make the level of pleasure as deep and realistic as possible. The more pleasure you associate with achieving your goal, the easier it will be to get out of your comfort zone and do the things needed to achieve that goal.
Success is most often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable
Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing
When you take risks you learn that there will be times when you succeed and there will be times when you fail, and both are equally important. It’s failure that gives you the proper perspective on success...........There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure
Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.Failure is so important. We speak about success all the time. It is the ability to resist failure or use failure that often leads to greater success. I’ve met people who don’t want to try for fear of failing
3•Gain a clear picture of what you want to achieve
Before you can achieve anything in life, you have to know what you want. You have to decide that whatever you’re doing is important to you, that it’s worth it. And if it isn’t, it’s time to set new, more meaningful goals.
If you’re passionate about it, about really living out your purpose, you’ll be more likely to commit—to buckle down and set powerful goals. So focus on what you really want to accomplish, and it will make the journey that much sweeter. If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes
You can’t move towards a goal unless you have a clear idea about what that goal is. This picture must be specific.
You can’t simply state that you want “a better job”; rather you must clearly picture what that job will be and why it will be better.
You can’t simply have the goal of “being self-employed”; instead, you need to have a clear picture of what you will be doing and how that will change your life......All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim, have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible
You have to set goals that are almost out of reach. If you set a goal that is attainable without much work or thought, you are stuck with something below your true talent and potential.
One way to keep momentum going is to have constantly greater goals
4•Associate immense pleasure with achieving your goal
Impossible is just a word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing....The only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.
A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at
Make the level of pleasure as deep and realistic as possible. The more pleasure you associate with achieving your goal, the easier it will be to get out of your comfort zone and do the things needed to achieve that goal. It’s up to you to make your life. Take what you have and stack it up like a tower of teetering blocks. Build your dream around that....Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. Keep your eyes on the stars, but remember to keep your feet on the ground
5•Keep your goal at the forefront of your mind
Set achievable goals. Be realistic with yourself. Set goals that challenge you, but don't discourage you. Recognize the difference between end goals and the smaller short term goals that you need to set for yourself to get there. Be patient with yourself, because as badly as we wish they would - positive differences don't happen overnight.
Be intentional! Why are you setting this goal for yourself? Set goals/resolutions that you reflect on and truly want to achieve, not just because it's trendy.
Not only do you need to have a clear picture in your mind about what you would like to achieve in your goal, you also need to keep that goal at the front for your mind.
There are many ways you can keep yourself reminded about your goal. One idea is creating a storyboard with photos about what you want to achieve.
A number of years ago, I set the goal of going to the Olympic Games. I set a storyboard filled with photos of the Olympics and of the city where the games were hosted. I placed the poster in a place where I would see it all the time when I was working. It helped me make the progress I needed to for my goal to come true.
Now, a number of years later, I have been to four consecutive Olympic Games.
You may also want to use your calendar system (such as Outlook or Google Calendar) to set reminders. Have the reminders keep you focused on the goal you want to achieve.
While these six steps are simple, they are very rewarding. Put them into action and you will achieve your goals.
6•Focus on doing something important each day towards reaching your goals
Goals, the key to living life on a new level. Goal setting is what separates successful people from unsuccessful people. If you do not know where you are heading you will just wander around aimlessly living a life of mediocrity. May these quotes help you to see the importance of having clearly written down goals for all aspects of your life.
Focus on your goal. Don’t look in any other direction..Be a goal digger
As I mentioned in the introduction, each day that goes past without action towards your goal plants you further in your current situation. As such, you need to do something each and every day towards achieving your goal.
Start by identifying the important activities that need to do to achieve your goal. Every goal can be broken down in to a number of steps and those steps can be broken down further into the activities needed to achieve those goals.
You need to do something every day from this list. That means even on days when you are busy with other things, tired, or when unexpected things fill your time, you need to find someway to do something that helps you move forward.
Even if it is a simple act, it will help you keep your personal momentum moving in the right direction.
