Why the fuck should you watch “John Wick”?
• Let’s get one thing very clear: You don’t kill John Wick’s dog and steel his car.
• You like pure action movies.
• You like to see men in their underpants.
• You believe in a world where giving your word is enough to make a deal.

In 2014 this little action flick managed to change the action genre!

Here’s a plot for you: A retired hitman has a wife – the wife dies due to illness. Then he gets a dog – the dog gets killed and his car gets stolen. Then the retired hitman has a shower and goes into a killing spree. The end.

A simple plot, but simple pleasures in life are the best (mmm.. simple pleasures). It has a well choreographed action, stylish look and visuals. Storytelling is done with perfect editing and using as few words as possible, it all keeps up the interest. Not everything is explained and this gives that world a lot of depth. A world within a world. What does that mean, you ask? Well go and watch the movie then you’ll see (buy it, don’t download for free, it’s illegal and John Wick will find you).

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is not a perfect action hero. He has his flaws: he is a little “rusty” because he had been retired for years, he sometimes gets shot, stabbed, and sometimes he makes emotional decisions, because this time it’s personal. But a perfect hero is a crap hero. It makes him relatable even when he’s pulling off the sickest gunfights and martial arts.

If you are struggling to get shit done in your life (taking trash out or writing your thesis or whatever), then remember this quote: “John is a man of focus, commitment and sheer will. Something you know very little about.” And Believe me – John Wick gets shit done.
