What is your favorite childhood movie?

in #movies7 years ago (edited)

My steemit name is actually the title of my favorite childhood flick. (Babe)

I just realized how obscure this reference was and perhaps I shouldn't use it as my steemit handle. Oh well, this movie was so pure and full of joy and adorableness. This is an integral part of my childhood. Which movie impacted you as a child? Do you have a favorite scene?

Sort:

Robot Wars, not a movie, but a one hell of a show!

It really was. the reboots ok but not quite as good.

Okay now I must check it out. Shows worthy of reboots are typically classic for that generation!

Robot wars??? Gotta check it out sounds awesome:)

Menace 2 society

but im okay now :)

Sorry for the late reply! I haven't seen that. What was I doing as a child that I haven't seen all these cool movies??? I think I was too much into Disney =/ sigh Childhood forever ruined lol.

No problem, you didn't see it? you are kidding me :) Trainspotting also a piece of art you really have to see. Ever heard about tv show Boardwalk Empire? Best crime/drama ever.

Have a good day there

Due to my younger sisters i had to see a lot of Disney movies to. :S

But im okay now:)

I loved Trainspotting! My hubby showed it to me first. There were so many emotions <3 Okay I'm taking these down! Menace to society and boardwalk empire! Alright:)

Way too many to list them all, but my top 5 in chronological order would probably be (& yeah, I saw all these as a kid):

  1. Star Wars - A New Hope
  2. The Blues Brothers
  3. Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back
  4. Jaws
  5. Evil Dead

Star Wars!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was waiting for someone to drop that one :) I still have yet to see a star wars movie. I should change that lol.

If you do, do you intend to watch them in order of release (4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 7) or by story line sequence (1 ,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)?

Believe it or not this is a burning question for some folk :)

My recommendation, if you do decide to watch them, is start with the golden oldies first, there's just something more philosophical about them, and whimsical too, like Errol Flynn swingin-from-the-rafters adventure on the high seas kind of adventure. I'm looking at you, Han ;)

If you can only manage one, then you should consider SW Ep IV - A New Hope.

PS: Han shot first. That's important.

AH! the only reason I haven't seen them is because I've been warned to never watch them out of order. Ok Han shot first I'm going to take that tidbit and remember it! There's a twist about Han solo hmmmm and I already know darth vader is the father. That's like the biggest spoiler ever but everyone already knows.

"That's like the biggest spoiler ever but everyone already knows."

Yeh thanks to Homer!

You can watch them in any order you like, I just think there's a different quality to the original three that is more than nostalgia. Considering the time they were made and the technology available, the fact they made such an impact and lasting impression makes it even more an achievement.

Mine was Robin Hood the cartoon movie from years ago, with the fox as robin hood. Must have watched it a few hundred times as a kid.

I remember watching that! He was such a little trickster :3
