A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)
Directed by Chuck Russell
Plot: Freddy Krueger is back and he is after a group of teens that are checked in to the psych ward. With the help of Nancy, their counselor and arch nemesis of Freddy, they discover the ability to unlock powers in the dream world. But will it be enough??
Reflection: Easily one of the most fun films from the Nightmare franchise. This is the turning point where Freddy becomes the trash talking goofball that pop culture has since remembered him by. Dream Warriors has a lot of really playful kills and impressive effects including the infamous television kill-- all time favorite of mine. Freddy deadly mischief is all set to the soundtrack of almost forgotten hair metal giants, Dokken. I'll add their music video as it is a must see. Would recommend this to anyone. Even if you haven't seen the original!
Further Viewing: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan, Hellraiser
Besides the original this is probably my favorite one but my favorite death scene is 4 which is the roach motel.
That's one of my wife's favorites too!
I remember liking this one better than the 2nd. Upvoted
Absolutely more fun. I read this whole write up a year or two ago explaining how the second Nightmare is an allegory for homosexuality and it actually made me like it more.
