The 25 All-Time Greatest Movies About Romance

In celebration to Valentine's Day today, I thought I would bring you what Vanity Fair has named the All Time romantic movies. Most of these movies are 20+ years old but I shall be making another list of romantic movies, focused on the more moderate of the genre.    An American naval officer's talent for living the good life in wartime is challenged when he falls in love and is sent on a dangerous mission.

3. Before Sunrise / Before Sunset / Before Midnight(1995, 2004, 2013)
   Stars: Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy
   Sunrise-A young man and woman meet on a train in Europe, and wind up spending one evening together in Vienna. Unfortunately, both know that this will probably be their only night together.
   Sunset-Nine years after Jesse and Celine first met, they encounter each other again on the French leg of Jesse's book tour.
   Midnight-We meet Jesse and Celine nine years on in Greece. Almost two decades have passed since their first meeting on that train bound for Vienna.

4. Brief Encounter(1945)

8. The English Patient(1996)

   At the close of WWII, a young nurse tends to a badly-burned plane crash victim. His past is shown in flashbacks, revealing an involvement in a fateful love affair.

9. Ghost(1990)

   After a young man is murdered, his spirit stays behind to warn his lover of impending danger, with the help of a reluctant psychic.
