Got to have an early birthday present last night watching on of my favorite films at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood last night! It might be my favorite place to watch a film. You can bring whatever you like to eat, spread out on a blanket on some thick grass and enjoy a show surrounded by the dead. I think a zombie film is in order.
As far as Drive goes, what an immersive experience. The police helicopters circled above at the perfect time during the car chase with the Helicopter you’d think they were waiting for it!
Cinespia is the organization that puts these screenings on all summer long.
We were also treated by the appearance of the director, Nicolas Winding Refn, who made some jokes about being Gosling’s soul mated, telekinetic twin - which i found hilarious - and showed us a trailer for his new TV series! I forget what it’s called but it looks amazing.
