My point of view as a screen writer, with the little experience I have, this movie ticked a lot of boxes.

The film stars Zendaya and John David Washington and follows a writer-director and his girlfriend whose relationship is tested on the night of his latest film's premiere, when revelations about themselves surface.
Malcolm (Washington) is largely a self-centered asshole, the kind of guy who makes everything about him, even the life story of Marie (Zendaya), and then refuses to give her credit for it.
They go into deep arguments and conversations relating to their relationship Life, with one trying to hurt the other with words and exposed secrets.
It's an emotional Rollercoaster and exploration of the intensity depth and fragility within a very passionate relationship between two broken people torn between the woes of their pain, pasts, insecurities and the powerful love they have for each other.

Most people who have seen the movie are at a "meh" stance after seeing and I ask why? Cos it's good movie, and the reasons why they are at a "meh" shocks me.
One reason being that I was set in one location.
We don't have to see people flying all the time with a cape in the sky, or Gunz and good graphics or monsters or blood shed before we call a movie a good movie

Why the movie deserves more credit.
The acting is perfect
The script is perfect
The idea that was being portrayed is perfect
The dialogues is perfect.
Camera placements, perfect.

The acting to me was flawless and convincing. The switch of emotions numerous times (especially from zendaya) was beautiful and got me clapping standing off my seat and let it be known that it is not easy keep the the audience glued to their seats with a movie that just has one location.

The monologues were superb I saw Malcom (Washington) talk for minutes hitting every beat, tone, and facial expressions. Conversations were deep.
Execution was on point, framing everything.
it was a good movie, and doesn't deserve the poor ratings it gets.

Then again the look of the film is striking and breathtaking the use of lighting and camera angles and movements is on point.

I was 15 minutes into the movie and was already drawn In deep wanting to see and know more

Highly recommended.
