Like as much as I love BR 2049, and I think when I first watched it I did love it, I think. It didn't surprise me at all, except with its visuals or audio. And I kept expecting it to surprise me with its story because the audio and visuals and acting were all A+++. But it never happened. The story was pretty mediocre compared to the rest of the parts of the movie. The story was like a B or B-. It was kinda jarring how mediocre it was to me. Incongruous to the rest of the movie. And with Dune, as I had read the book, I had accepted the story already and. Was SURPRISED that Denis had included all of my favorite scenes. And I think being suprised by a movie is one of my favorite things. SO theres my explanation
