Top Ten Movie Monsters!

in #movie7 years ago

My podcast Deep Fat Fried recently spent 2 hours figuring out our picks for the Top Ten Movie Monsters of all time. Not only did we argue amongst each other, but we got the live audience involved in the process as well.

It was fun watching a Top Ten list come together in real time with the audience weighing in every step of the way.

I hope you enjoy it.

I was upset to see Darkness bumped from the list. No one can out creepy Tim curry. Damn you Paul.

I don't think any of these are top-ten, but here are a few that were not mentioned: Fluffy/Basilisk from Harry Potter and the cockroach from MIB.

Probably the best DFF since Caligula, great job. It's really hard to do a "top ten best" list, because how do you determine what "best" is? Your personal preference? Then it should just be a "my top ten favorite" list. Iconicity? Then it's just a "top ten most popular" list. You guys blended these two methods, and it worked out pretty good.

"Zombies" really was too broad, though.

Hey guys,
really syced that TJ is finally into crypto, been waiting a while hahah!
Been here for a while myself, so if you wanna get deeper into crypto you can check out my profile, doing short reviews on lesser known coins with great potential for 2018, looking for the next ETH NEO IOTA XRB run, starting with XBY this week, most promising atm:

Good job tonight guys! I'm enjoying each episode more and more!

Oh and you guys forgot to include Jeepers Creepers in your list :(

I don't know man. He is pretty good but it all kind of falls apart when he grows those wings. Its like one toke over the line. You know what I mean.

I thought of a few they didn't include as well, but over all I think they came up with a great list.

they took this one into consideration but dropped him as too generic

TJ, what's up with Ben streaming on the DP channel?

Interesting i wish i was there to join in the discussion.... @tjkirk

I agree, you sit here listening and think "man, I want to put in my 2 cents!". Of course, we could have that debate here in the comments.

Best movie monster? Lionel's mother from "Dead Alive".

Damn I missed it live... Well, I was screwing around on DTube, and watching some Political Porno, so it was still well spent time.
I'll check it out on YouTube.

I did too. It would have been fun to participate.

My list woulda been all 1980s sleazebucket slasher flick villians.

Pale Man, baby in passion of christ

My Personal Top 3

1 Godzilla, too iconic not to be on top of my list.
2 The Blob, a perfect B-Movie monster, cheesy, but not too cheesy to be scary.
3 Stay-Puft, personal favorite, an extra-dimensional meta-specter in the form of a cute mascot type creature that attempts to Godzilla stomp a city.

This was fun to watch! You made great choices.

I knew the Xenomorph was going to take the cake - its a flawless monster. It also ranks #1 as the most plausible depiction of an alien in Hollywood by TREY The Explainer. :P

I think i would have added the cockroach from Mimic and MIB, and the Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth - creepy AF!

Also, the gremlin on the plane was my childhood nightmare.

First post on Steemit! Special thank you to TJ for introducing me to this website!

Cannot believe Frank didn't even make the contender list...
