THE TRUMAN SHOW - Thoughts Shared

in #movie3 years ago

Only handful movies are there, where the takeaways vary from person to person depending on age, gender, mindset and even maturity. And any perspective is not wrong.

The Movie Poster

Jim Carrey has done comprehensive justification to the role, and no one could have done it better. The aftereffects of watching the movie is generally "amazed". Now this amazed can have different perspective of all the people and I am going to share mine.

In fact, my aftereffects continued for next 48 hours of watching the movie. The emotions in me kept changing or rather evolving doubtful - suspicious - amazed - shocked - and then go on thinking. Yeah that's an emotion too, when you can't just stop thinking about it - the movie is a sphere and your mind is ranging out to every bit and covering it 360 degree not even wanting to leave any possible viewpoint.

As audience, when we come to know that Truman Burbank's life is just a Television Show and he is unaware of it, we are definitely astonished. But how many of us are astonished to to the fact, that the tiger in the zoo is not a piece of show that we have made it. As a child I have been to many places and was always excited to visit a zoo - to see new animals that I have never seen before giraffe, rhino, big snakes, different breeds of beautiful birds, elephant, lion, monkeys, chimpanzees, rabbits etc.

Do they know that this is not a forest and this is not their real livelihood?? Who are we to cage them and keep them in that cage until they die?? Why we as humans think we have that kind of power to control their life?? Just because they can't talk like humans, we think we are superior. Yes this is the fact which we accept it or not. But it is not true though.!

Some people may say we don't visit to zoo. So they not doing anything wrong. But maybe you have an aquarium which is again an artificial world of a fish and that fish doesn't have an idea about it. Maybe there is parrot in the cage, whom you definitely talk to, feed and love very much, yet she is not allowed to fly under the blue sky and it will never know what is a bird's eye view.

So being humans may be we should stop being so inhumane. There should be no zoos, the animals who belong to the wilderness should be be there only.

Why are we so scarred to co-exist.?? Co-existence is the nature of law and we should always abide the law of nature.

Lab rats are another example of our inhumane-ness in the name of "SCIENCE". Who gave us the permission to perform experiments on rats?? Who decided a rat's life is less important that any human??

With all the theories and even some evidences of extra terrestrial being there is a high possibility that we are also in some sort of lab and experiments are also been carried on us. Because the rat never knows he is been observed, he thinks it's the real world in that cage.

If some day we come to know that yes we are been observed then at least we should not say "why us god? why us?"

You make a very vital reflection based on what the film The Truman Show, a very lucid cinematographic and critical proposal by director Peter Weir, has left in you. Many times I used this film in my audiovisual semiotics courses. This all-powerful presence over someone's life has been very much worked in literature. Greetings, @raka.
