Let's stay with the upcoming alleged movies and talk about Doctor Strange 2. When the movie will be released? Originally it was said on many portals it could already be 2020 so far, but that is rather improbable. Because the actor and helper of Doctor Strange Benedict Wong said in an interview that the filming wouldn't start until 2020. That means either we will see the film 2021 or 2022.
A Shang-Chi film is also very likely, which could possibly expect us in 2021 or at the end of Phase 4, in 2022. There have been a lot of rumors that Marvel would work on the film adaptation of this character and that this realization is also very attractive to get a foothold in the Asian market. I want to make a separate article about Shang-Chi in which I will tell a bit about him.
And then there's a rumor about Black Window, the film about Scarlett Johansson's character, where you still don't know if it's really a prequel, i.e. the original story of Black Widow, or does the film play somewhere before Endgame but everything after the first Iron Man film? You don't really know yet. But what's certain is that Florence Pugh is acting in the upcoming Black Widow film. She was last seen in The Little Drummer Girl series.
The actress is supposed to play one of the agents. And now there's a new rumor that she's playing an agent who's supposed to be the successor to Black Widow. Yelena Belova is the character's name and she is supposed to take over the costume of Black Widow at the end of the movie Black Widow, because then she will be in retirement respectively we know what happened to Black Widow.
The possibility is definitely there that Marvel consider and position a successor for Black Widow with Florence Pugh, but don't really introduce or name her yet. This means that Florence Pugh can be seen in Black Widow, but if she really will be the successor, that will only become apparent then.
Again it is so far that Marvel is slowly building up for a new story line, which will more or less run through all the movies, for the new Avengers, new young characters who partly, however, take over the heroic alter egos of their predecessors. Which I personally don't like that much, because I think Marvel could rather take in more new characters. This will happen to some extent, but they also want to continue with familiar names, because the viewers are used to them and introduce the new ones with time. This is the old but also good used narrative of Marvel.
