Fans are making the best use of previously unavailable Avengers: Infinity War footage, now that the film is out on home video. Here’s a new ‘trailer’ that will make you reconsider everything you believed in about Thanos.
Avengers Infinity War trailars
Now that Avengers: Infinity War is out on home video, fans have been using the previously unavailable footage to make video essays, mashups and other fun stuff. The latest is a trailer, told from the perspective of the villainous Thanos, and set to the same music used in the new Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer.
The ‘trailer’ - by CarpenterSound - brings Thanos’ arc to the forefront of the story, and relegates the Avengers as mere supporting characters. “Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same,” declares Thanos in the video, which has already accumulated close to 350,000 views, and goes on to spell out his evil plan.
In the film, Thanos goes on a quest to unite all six Infinity Stones, which, when united, can make the owner the most powerful being in the universe. Along the way, he must make many sacrifices in order to achieve his goal - the most heartbreaking of which is being forced to kill his own daughter, Gamora, in order to gain access to the Soul Stone.
“This universe is finite, it’s resources finite,” Thanos says, against a backdrop of visuals from the film - the opening battle in New York, when his minions fight Iron Man, Hulk and Doctor Strange to the moment he throws Gamora off a cliff. “If life is left unchecked, life will face extinction. With all six stones I could simply snap my fingers and it would all cease to exist. I call that the small price to pay for salvation. I’m the only one who knows that,” he says. “At least, I’m the only one with the will to act on it.”
