It's a good thing Dtube didn't work out, we don't really want to be the place to go to for illegal material.
Why ?who said you have to pay 20 usd to watch a movie? they already make a lot of money when movie is released in theatres
That's a completely different discussion.
It just boils down to this: uploading those movies is illegal, there are numerous court cases where people had to pay huge sums of money.
Or companies that provided the possibility to view/download these movies were shutdown (Piratebay, Megaupload) and their owners prosecuted.
I agree that the companies which release these movies already make a lof of money, but to draw unwanted attention to Steem by posting illegal material is not constructive.
Yeah i do agree with you on this point .
however if they make dtube a separate entity with hosting on the blockchain like ethereum, no country would be abble to shut them down.
Holywood earns tons of cash in theatres i don't see why we have to pay to see it home.
Plus the people who pay for their netflix subscribtion are already paying for our right to watch illegaly movies.

I wonder if the IP address is somewhere on the chain when you register, I'm sure some companies will try and find the people who are sharing stuff and will take them to court at some point.

Yeah but anyway i uploaded nothing it's on uptobox servers so i'm fine . If everybody share they won't arrest anybody because they are too much .
