About Watchmen the comic book vs. Watchmen the movie

in #movie7 years ago (edited)

Actually in the comic book Watchmen, Dr. Manhattan turned out to be the villain in the end. But in the Hollywood movie version they made the other guy the villain. It completely changed the meaning of the movie. Alan Moore, the writer, is quite an anarchic fellow. Hollywood would not have that. It really bugged me that they changed the ending like that. Because the ending was the whole point of the movie. It pointed to the fact that those who seemed heroic were actually the bad guys and also indicated that governments might be creating wars to conceal their own misdeeds and keep people occupied on things other than taxes and banking collusions.

Honestly, I did not see much difference between the book and movie. Have you started the sequel? I am stoked for it.
