Standing 4045 meters from sea level, Mount Kinabalu are the highest peak in South East Asia. Around 2 hours driving from Kota Kinabalu, the capital city of Sabah, Mount Kinabalu totally standing tall with dense green forest around. Not only well known for its beautiful sight and nature, Mount Kinabalu are also a symbol of pride among the indigenous people of Sabah. Another myth said that there is a dragon who live in a cave somewhere in the mountain, guarding large amount of gold, which only can be seen by choosen people who have pure heart.
On June 05, 2015, an earthquake with magnitude of 6.0 Ritcher scale trembling the mountain, causing 18 casualities and left a devastating blow for people who live around the mountain area. As a result from the earthquake (and countless low magnitude earthquake after the big wave), the estimated damage are almost $2.84 billion (USD). However, the earthquake really bring the people together. Support and prayer from around the world really give strength to those who affected by the earthquake. For those heroes who lost their life to save others during the disaster, may your soul rest in peace. We will always missing you and remember you in our prayer. You're most welcome. It's best if you pick a date out of monsoon season. Otherwise, you'll miss a lot of wonderful view.
Wow! Love those cloud formations above the peak.
Thank you @roytc123. The cloud formation usually indicate monsoon changes from sunny to rainy season and vice versa. Probably due to temperature and pressure change. I took the shot around October last year, which about right time where the rainy season start.
