Today we decided to walk Sgor Gaoith The Windy Peak, from Glen Feshie. The weather wasn't meant to be very good and varied on all websites so we decided to pick the best and hope for the best. It started off in scorching African heat.
Not even the shelter refuge can protect us from the heat pouring down on us and not even a single breeze.
It looks like the weather is about to change soon.
As we approach the Carn Barn Mor on the Cairngorm plateau the wind and gust pick up to about 45 mph.
As we got to the summit, the mist had lifted completely and go get the most spectacular views.
There is a sheer drop behind me and although the wind is blowing away from it I am scared to walk any further.
Let's get off this plateau without lunch before it gets any worse.
At the end of the plateau, the heavens open and we had to put the waterproofs quick. Looks like no lunch any time soon.
After the rain and wind, it's hot again and we stopped for something to eat. Then the rain came down just to become scorching hot again. What a beautiful heather.
Thank you for reading see you next time.
Beautiful photos! Some spectacular views out that way for sure!
Thank you

Whenever I see your posts I get this feeling that I MUST go to Scotland sometime. Such incredible beauty! Though it can't be seen in the photos, I find the scorching African heat you described scary... Even in the Highlands!

This place is like heaven on earth such beautiful scenery here. Yes, it gets hot in the mountains a lot. We even had 30 degrees last week I guess sadly due to climate change.
What fantastic scenery, so beautiful there @highlandwalker!
I'd be jumping in that lake in that kind of heat! :-))
Thank you for sharing these awesome hikes and boulders!
The drop to the lake was 1000 meters! Haha so maybe not. I was scared to stand next to the cairn to take the photos.
Beautiful
