Just before the Laverda Factory was finally closed ( several restarts were tried)
they built one of the most amazing Endurance Racing Bikes ever seen a V6 Engine'd Monster
I have put an Open Museum Day at the Start of this , and Below a Lap of The Valencia Race Track on Board one of these very rare Machines.
Following on from my last Post and delving back into the past a bit.
The first Laverda I ever saw was Peter Pl., Highly Modified , Custom Spray Job , 3 into 1 Exhaust , and doing a Robot to Robot race with him along Ontdekkers Road one night is how I figured My Rings were worn on My Kawasaki 900 with the 1000 Conversion, cause at first we were about even and then he started to pull away from me after about 3 Drags.
This caused me to remove the Head and barells, replace the rings and notice a Big Improvement.
Another beauty of Working at Lucas was that I was able to use the Carburetor Departments Jet Drills to make my own jet sizes , and really fine tune it.
In number 8 of this series I mentioned a Moto Guzzi Machine but said no more on it:-

Here is an item from Youtube showing this other Italian Beauty
By the time I was at Lucas for a while Peter had bought a Moto-Guzzi Le Mans Series 2 850 and was very happy with it. I rode it a couple of times and was impressed with the stiff Frame, Great Handling , Exhaust note , and the speed it got together.
If I do not mention Moto-Guzzi on my next Lucas post , please remind me!
The one I bought ( many years later) was the series 3 with 1000cc which was not common, most of them being 850cc., Guzzi also made a bike that was Automatic, very unusual in those Days.
Wayne would get on the Guzzi , myself on The Laverda , and in a Top Gear Roll on the Guzzi would just steam ( steem if you prefer) away . until the
Laverda hit about 6500rpm and it would start reeling the Guzzi in rapidly!
Just BTW Guzzi in the 1950's built a V8 engined Racing Motorcycle and I managed to find an item on Youtube on it:
Please indulge me in my reminiscing my past!
You got good taste on your bike collection my friend @awgbibb
Thank You, My Friend appreciate your visit.
These look so retro. I like it. My grandpa had one of those
(not mine, just a picture from web)
We still have the frame of it.
EMWs are kind of rare too these days :-) Awesome design back then!
The Motor looked so much like a BMW 250 , I had to look it up, I now know more, Thanks.
The Laverda is insane! Thanks for sharing these video clips! Awesome bike
Thank You. Glad you enjoyed it.

Awesome bikes ! you must have taken a ride also for Laverda v6
Thank You. Very few of them were made
By then they may be jet-engined?
Will hold you to that!
That Laverda 1000 is a beauty to look at. Although, with it chasing you down at 6500 rpm it was not a sight you wanted to see I imagine. Great post!

@awgbibb Awesome bikes :-)
Thank You.
☺️
Those are some beautiful bikes man! I love the look of the first one, but I'm curious, do the metal cylinders in front of the seat serve any purpose or are they just for aesthetics? Looking forward to your future posts!
I assume you are referring to the three Ram Air Devices on each side?. They increase the length of the Carburettor Inputs ( also used on Racing Fuel Injection ) they effect the Power and torque Characteristics of the engine to make it pull harder at the Revs required at the Track you are on ( different lengths for different tracks.)
Fascinating, thank you for your time! I'm not well versed in motorcycles so I appreciate the very clear explanation!
Loved the Post specially the Retro Bikes

That´s funny. To achieve a stream line design they all have this nice cigar shape. I love it!
This was called a Dustbin Fairing and gave you an extra 25MPH. They were banned as a sudden side wind would run the bike sideways off the track . Lost a number of Riders!
nice bike who don't likes bikes?
My Wife?
hehe nice one, she must love those 4 wheels
Love your posts about bikes!)
Thank You. Just laying out my history.
Damn the raw power and speed on these bikes are amazing and they look truly beautiful.
I'd never have the balls to drag race a motorbike as I'd be overwhelmed by the rapid rate of acceleration haha
I hope you have a great day! :)
Thank You for the Visit.
Love it, upvote!
Thank You.
One of few good things about getting older is being able to tell stores about how it was in the past. My kids hate hearing them most likely, but I enjoy it lol.
My Youngest asked me to keep a Journal, so, disjointed as it is, that's what I am doing!
Loved those bikes. I wish I had one.
Maybe Steemit will assist with that?
I hope so :)
Some amazing Bike Collection loved it
Thank You.
my Pleasure !!
The most important thing is to have a good relationship with the bike... you have to understand what she wants. I think of a motorcycle as a woman, and I know that sounds silly, but it's true.
Great 👍 work @awgbibb
Well they are sometimes difficult....

Question is:- Which one Won? Went to the site you obtained the picture from, very interesting. Thank You.
Thanks :) Well I guess new one is faster, but maybe guy on the old one was cheating and he won :D Otherwise, I think that new one won :P Or maybe new one got broken hehe...? :D
Those were the days. Every guy I knew was doing motocross riding. Beautiful bikes. Thanks for the post. 🐓🐓
