Montesa got to see the light of day today.

Good evening.

Well it is 99% done, just waiting for tank badges.

Montesa cota 348.

I put some stickers on the tzr 125 petrol tank.

Not sure I like them now so will be taking them off and trying some others on it instead.

Standing close and fitting them it seemed to make sense, at a distance they look uneven and even a touch odd.

And a new arrival yesterday that has been totally mistreated by previous owners, wrong silencer, it was off a 1290 KTM four stroke, they had cut the end off the original front pipe and welded a wider one on it. To make matters worse even with the wider pipe the silencer did not fit so they just slid it over the end of the pipe with no sealant. A 2 stroke relies on back pressure, all of it was lost with what they did.

So the first thing I did was take off the fairing, and even that was from the wrong bike, it was from a different model and made to fit with various home made brackets.

And I put on the correct exhaust system I had in my workshop (I have 4 of these pipes) and now it runs as it was meant to run, and pulls just like it should, with their exhaust that they thought made it look like a big bike, it would not rev beyond 6000 rpm, now it revs to 11000.

I ordered a complete correct to bike plastic panel set today so as soon as it arrives I will fit it and show it you again, later this week I hope, fingers crossed.

Very hot night, still 28 degrees c so I am off for a much needed shower.

See you soon.

This is you or were at the trials as a spectator? Cool picture.

!ENGAGE 20

No - I haven't seen a trials event in many years - I was just searching for a pic of a Montesa in action

Ah ok. Cool little bikes. I love watching Trials, although like you haven't seen one love for many years. In a lot of motor racing it's the crashes and mishaps that bring excitement...In Trials it's the whole thing of it!

Long ago i used to do sort of trials style riding on a honda xr200 which was fun.

How does the engage 20 tag work?

ENGAGE is tokens, you can check how many you have (if any) in the hive engine wallet found in the wallet tab of peakd.

I hold more than 1001 ENGAGE tokens so can trigger a @misterengagement vote with the invocation of the !ENGAGE (1-100) thing. It rewards engagement. If you go to the reply you made, the one I initially commented on you'll see a 0.03 vote and 12 voters. That's what invoking that 20 thing did. The number is a percentage.

I do have some tokens but they are all a mystery to me!

Good old bikes, wheelies for miles.

i keep finding honda cbr pics

I declined to buy the last one, it was a bike with many faults, and on a bike so fast any fault is not good.

I am not surprised anymore at the stupid stuff some people do to cars and bikes etc.

Ignorant times leads to ignorant people does it not? And neither am I, I expect it now, unlike years gone by.

That Montessa came out nice. I like the old-school look. Sure, the modern bikes are pretty sweet, but these older ones ave an appeal all their own as well right?

Thank you, like me it is old, but it looks better than me.

Lol, well only marginally. 😁
