Jorge Lorenzo has not won a single victory with Ducati. But Max Biaggi believes Lorenzo will do so next year while being a competitor to the world title.
This season Lorenzo underwent the inaugural season by being on top of the Ducati flagship Desmosedici. This is also his first season appearing in MotoGP without riding a Yamaha motorcycle.
Of the 17 series in MotoGP 2017 so far, the best achievement Lorenzo is a one-time finish second. Overall, MotoGP world champion 2010, 2012, and 2015 was only able to ride three podiums with Ducati.
Biaggi, known to be familiar with Lorenzo, believes things will change next year. Four times world champion in the 250cc believes once Lorenzo will soon be able to maximize the ride.
"Jorge never gave up even though the results have not arrived yet, he is optimistic and now he is competitive," said Biaggi as reported by Speedweek.com.
"At Misano he was really tight before he fell, at Aragon he also led in front for a long time and could get on the podium, I'm sure the victory will come soon."
"As soon as he has adjusted his bike as he wishes he will be ahead and next year he will compete in the title race," he said.
Andrea Dovizioso, Lorenzo's teammate, is still involved in the competition for the 2017 MotoGP title with Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) when the season leaves a series of races in Valencia at the weekend.
