Don't Procrastinate, Just Do It

One of the greatest enemies of success is procrastination. Of course, if you have not taken action towards something, you will not expect result from it. If you want to act, then do it immediately and do not wait for a nonexistent and supposed right time. If you keep waiting for a right time before you take actions, you will end up not taking any step at all. If you keep thinking and waiting, it may delay your actions. So wake up and act. You may not need to see the entire route before you take the first step. You only need the knowledge of the destination, then take the step and you will see more routes unfolding.

If you take a step and fail at it, you are still better than the person that has stayed without making any attempt at taking steps. You will be surprised that many of the most successful people are not products of luck - they were not lucky, neither were they talented nor even smart, but they just figured out a way to act without procrastinating, and without discouraging themselves from taking the actions. You may not need to tell anyone the moves you want to make if they will talk you out of it, just make the moves.

As time passes, opportunities to take a certain step also passes, and if you do not take the action when the opportunity is there, you will not get the benefits. More often than not, success does not require an incredible amount of talent, it may just require that you take timely actions towards your dreams. It is not enough to keep dreaming and making big plans, the question is, "what step have you taken in the line of your dream?" The truth is that it is not the brilliance of your dreams that brings you success but the work you have put into the dreams.

A lot of people may have a similar idea and even closely related dreams, but why the result each one has is different is because of the execution of the dream. It is the prompt action that you put into your dream that determines the result you will draw from it. You may have a brilliant plan to do but until you get started with the first step, the plan exists as just theories. The summation of the seemingly little steps you take at the right time definitely holds more potency than waiting until you will take a giant stride.

It is true that taking a step and doing it promptly may not be easy, but it is the first requirement towards success. As the world evolves and new trends emerge, the requirements for that particular era also changes, so if you do not take prompt action towards what you have planned, the delay may render it invalid and the action, when taken at a later time, may have the propensity of being futile. Procrastination has robbed many people of what they would have achieved.

There are lots of reasons why people procrastinate: some are because they keep waiting for the right time, while forgetting that time will not wait for them, and they are the ones to make the time right by taking the right action. Then others are afraid of the result of the action - like the fear of uncertainties, fear of the unknown, and even the fear of failing at the attempt, but they forget that what a lot of people see as failure is just a learning process. Even if you fail at that attempt, you have learnt something new in order to be better when making other attempts.

The time you keep waiting for the fear of unknown or fear of failure to be allayed before you take actions, you can use it to take the action and even if you fail at it, you are far better than if you had not taken the step, because you have acquired new knowledge. The step you need to take, you need to take it now. If a step is worth taking, and if an action is what doing, then you should also know that it is worth doing on time.
