Being happy about yourself is one of the most precious gifts you could give to anyone. People want to be with people who are so happy that it flows out of them. True inner happiness has a lot to do with being grateful to God for who He's made you.
Some people just are not satisfied with who they are. They fail to see themselves as God sees them. They keep wishing they were born in a different nation and/or into a different family. The way some people act it's as though they would have done a better job than God did if He had given them the opportunity to plan their lives.
Loving yourself is key to having a successful relationship. Loving yourself doesn't mean practicing self worship and self-centeredness, being stuck-up, arrogant or prideful.
Instead loving yourself basically means being thankful, excited and appreciative to God for the person He has made you to be. It means focusing on all the wonderful and beautiful things that God has blessed you with. It means accepting who you are and thriving to be the best you that you can ever be by adding values to yourself.
Loving yourself means believing that you were born in the right place, in the right country, into the right family, at the right time and that God loves you dearly.
It is with this understanding and disposition that a person is able to truly love someone in a relationship that will stand the test of time because what you give in a relationship is the gift of yourself. If you see no good in you and you do not appreciate your life, you'll invariably depreciate all your relationships.
