Hello Steemians! After we dropped our son to school. My husband and I had our morning routine walk on the beach. It's a nice fresh morning and the sun is shining. We left our bicycles on the same spot like always. My husband took out his shoes and I didn't. (takot manakaw ulet haha)
While we were walking, he said "Come, take out your shoes"
I replied "No, the water is cold, the sand is cold."
"It's not cold, the water is warm, warmer than the air"
My husband was enjoying the waves and he didn't mind to get wet.
I was running away from the waves, afraid to get wet and to be cold.
But he kept asking me. "Come, feel the water, the sand is good for your feet"
I said. "I have blisters on my feet, from walking yesterday"
"I't's ok, it's good for you"
Grrrrrr. "Ok, I will try now"
I took off my shoes and felt the water. I grinned:)
"Hehehe, you are right, the water is warmer than the air"
" I told you, it's warm" He smiled.
When I look back on our conversation. I realized that sometimes we tend to refuse before trying it. I thought, it was not good, boring, not exciting, it was not a good idea, I was not good at it etc. My first reaction was to run away from the waves and from the cold. But if I haven't tried it, how would I have found that out?
We fail by thinking it would fail. You set your mind already, because that is the easiest way, running away from fear and without facing it. Fear of failing, fear that you will not do good in your exams. It could be anything, your job interview, exams, food, sports etc. I do too sometimes.
Try not to run away from the cold water or wavy waves, face it. Maybe it isn't that bad at all. You have to try it first before saying "Oh oh, nahhh nahh not for me"
