One Day Left In 2025, One Decision Away From A Different Ending

in #motivation9 days ago

A few months back, I watched a particular football match which taught me a very vital lesson in life; that it is never over until everything is over. At the 89th minute of the match, one team was losing 2-3 and continued until the regular time of 90 minutes, then a few minutes of added time was given. Something very remarkable happened. The losing team equalised. This brought back their hope. Then just before the final whistle, the team that was initially losing at the 89th minute scored the winning goal. Incredible that they scored two goals in added time. A lot of people may have lost hope in their dreams for 2025, but just to let you know that the year has not ended yet. As a matter of fact, there is still hope of your dreams coming to life. 1 day is more than enough for something amazing to still happen.

One day left does not mean that hope is lost. There are sometimes that the only thing standing between where you are and where you are going to is just one decision. You may have looked back at the year and wished that you had done more, but one thing is sure; you can still achieve something worthwhile before the year ends. Just to let you know; a year is not necessarily defined by the length of days in it, but by the decisions you made and the choices you have taken. A single decision can restore a broken relationship, a single action can restart a dream, a single apology can heal a wounded heart. The power of a single decision to change the course of someone's trajectory in life is without question.

A few years back, something very remarkable happened within the rounding off moments of the year that taught me that it is never late for a particular dream to be realised. I had a dream for the year of what I wanted to achieve. Out of the list of items I wrote, others happened except that particular one, and the year was already drawing to a close. In just about a day to the end of the year, a friend invited me for an occasion and I decided to attend. Right in the event, I met someone who was introduced to me by my friend. During our discussion, he told me about his company and what they do. Adorably, it was the missing piece to the actualization of my dream for the year. I pitched my idea to him and he welcomed it. In just a few hours to the end of the year, I watched my dreams came into life. This showed me that hope is never lost until you say so.

It is true that you may not be able to erase the mistakes you made in the past twelve months, neither can you undo or edit the past, but you can determine how the year will end. The endings actually matter, because they determine how you step into the future. You will be surprised to note that a lot of great turnarounds actually happen in the last moments. The calendar may be trying to tell you that time is almost gone, but you have a duty to remind yourself that purpose does not run on clock. As long as you are still alive and as long as the year has not ended yet, then the choice still remains in your hands, and something positive can still happen.

The final moments of the year invite reflections, not condemnation. Reflect on how the year was. Ask yourself if there is something you did that you should not have done, or something that you did not do that you needed to do, or what you need to improve on. A single decision can look small, but the effects can change the course of your life forever. Making a decision to stop procrastinating, for example, can set a new direction for your life. If you do not reflect on how the year has been and what you did or did not do, you may repeat the same mistake again. If you want the coming year to be different from the present year, then you need to do something differently.

It is worthy to note that this final moment of the year is actually the bridge from the present to the future. How you cross the bridge actually matters. Will you cross it being bitter over the things that you think did not work for you, or will you cross it being wiser, better, and more determined? Some life-changing moments can happen when you least expect. Few hours can be all you need to make a difference in your life. They may look small, but they carry incredible power within them.
