Beauty especially in recent times has been mistaken for outward appearance and outward appearances are highly deceptive.
Lets go back in time in typical Nigeria, when the average youth still had good morals.
GUYS,
Do you remember that girl you liked a lot because she was reading a novel and had good command of english? or that clean girl whose white socks and clean sandals gave you sleepless night?
What about the one who swept you away just because she challenged you and answered a question? (I think i'm that one...lol)
What about that humble and decently dressed girl that was the woman of your dream?
Do I have to name the one who refused talking to you because she thought you were one of the bad boys?
The other one you admired because she is hardworking and was so respectful.
The one who wanted to be a doctor or lawyer? Her ambition made you go crazy for her.
Do you remember those days when a woman's worth was far more than her figure?
What is happening today?
Personally I think most women allowed the society make them so cheap or busy Parenting have seen new set of youth who don't have the basic good moral of simple "Respect your elders"
The society reduced a woman to nothing but breast and butt and of course with the contribution of the media. I can't blame society when the dance most ladies know today is Twerking - posting videos on every available social media handle.
This has always made me think - you watch a music video clip today, the men are properly dressed and dancing responsibly while the woman is half-naked making sexual moves.
Guys now think all what makes a woman is the shape of her breast and the size of her butt, some even believe/say apart from sex, ladies got nothing to offer in a relationship anymore...
Unfortunately, this affects even the ladies with good moral values. I used to live in Port Harcourt - the indigenous men believe that women are subject to them. Even the tout on the street believes that he has a right to any woman no matter her class. Quotes like "I cannot answer to a woman" "A woman cannot be my boss" is quite common.
A good christian lady can walk on the street and still be approached by a alcohol reeking "agbero" (Nigerian slan for Tout), who has just finished extorting taxi drivers earning a honest living. When she refuses his advances, the guy will be visibly offended, you may hear words like " Go! what do you have that other girls don't have!!" (She has good morals, that's what!) or "Ashewo forming hard to get"
In many cases, I wondered why, then you'd stroll on the street at 8pm and see the same guy with another lady who is maybe even better dressed than you, she's buying into his "sweet words". All the slay queens he has been able to woo has made him think all women are the same.
LADIES,
Have you not discovered that when Men really want to settle down, they don't marry the "Slay Queen"?
The music artist makes an video with you dance half naked before the world, when he wants to settle he picks a lady that no one knows and its not You!
Its no wonder I have seen many men who in their youth hung out with slay queens eventually get married to a lady who can't combine colours not to talk of Slay!
Then other women go "What did he even see in her? "
Most men say that a beautiful woman without good character automatically becomes ugly. Your inner beauty can make your outward imperfections fade.
The true beauty of a woman is in the character she has developed and the investment she has made into her personality.
Let your beauty be because
You're hardworking and have excellent management skills
You are intelligent and a good financial planner
You have a listening ear and know when to speak
You always smile even in the midst of challenges and know how to pray
When you open your mouth only wisdom and soothing words of grace is heard
With all these qualities and more you still are a great dresser
Ladies! invest in yourself.
