I agree. I'm very happy with my life right now.
I left my home country 4 years ago to start a new life in another continent, one that boasts a complete lack of countries that speak any of my two native tongues. I came over alone.
Today, people keep asking me: Do you miss your family? Do you find learning Spanish hard? Do you miss the food in your hometown? It must be difficult to "do whatever I did".
Looking back with the benefit of hindsight, I think the only thing I ever did that could be classified as "difficult" is deciding to buy the plane ticket. Once that's done and dusted, everything else that follows is a combination of a pressure to see the whole plan through and a pressure to demostrate success.
Today I am studying mathematics as an undergrad in a completely foreign country using a completely foreign tongue with classmates half my age, and no one is any wiser. I have adapted. I have integrated.
I am happy because I am here by choice, not by chance of birth.
