YOur past does not equal the your future. Thats true. But we can still draw lesson from the past in order to utilize the future's productivity. But it doesnt mean we should still live in the past.
While it is true that our past does not equal our future,i think its still necessary to draw experience from them for the future...i believe the past is only a buildup to the future

Past is history and future is mystery. Our past may not always equal to our future but sometimes future may be worse than the past. We can also not say that past has no effect on our future. But future can be made great if we make our present better. Present is the key of the future.
