Success often begins from failure.
Some of the very famous people today have been through a lot, I mean A LOT of failure but one thing that is common to them is they didn’t quit. They persevered and they work hard.
Let us look at some of the famous people that have been through a lot of failure but eventually became the most successful and most famous people today.
1. Michael Jordan
“I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over again in my life that is why I succeed.”- Michael Jordan
Arguably the best ever to play the game of basketball. Some of his accomplishments on NBA includes: · 6 NBA championships
- 5 NBA Most Valuable Player Award
- 14x NBA All-Star
- 10x NBA Scoring Champion
But through all his accomplishments he had never made it to his basketball team when he was in high school.
2. J.K. Rowling
“Failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me.”- J.K. Rowling
The author of the Harry Potter novels.
Had a failed marriage and a baby daughter she raised alone. Struggled with depression. Got no job, and rejected 12 times by publishers on her book “Harry Potter”.
Now a famous writer and a Billionaire.
3. Thomas Edison
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that do not work.”-Thomas Edison
The man who invented the light bulb.
But little did we know Thomas Edison was both hearing impaired and fidgety. Lasted only three months in school and said that he was “too stupid to learn anything” by his teachers. He then would be home schooled by his mom.
4. Oprah Winfrey
“I don’t think of myself as a poor deprived ghetto girl who made good. I think of myself as somebody who from an early age knew I was responsible for myself, and I had to make good”- Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey also known as the “Queen of All Media”
Experienced abuse and poverty during her childhood. She was fired from her first television job as an anchor in Baltimore. Said that she was unfit for T.V.
But now Oprah Winfrey is worth an estimated $2.9 Billion.
5. Steve Jobs
“Failure doesn’t mean you will never achieve it just means a little longer.”- Steve Jobs
A drop out of college. Steve Jobs got kicked out of the company he founded “Apple”. Made bad, huge decisions as the CEO of the company.
A Billionaire, and tech genius behind the best-selling products such as iPod, iPad, and the iPhone or the Macbook.
Conclusion:
Failure doesn’t mean it is the end of the road, it just means that it may be the wrong road you have taken. You will always experience failure whatever path you will take, remember there is never an overnight success. If you want to succeed just fail, and fail again. Perspective is everything never be discouraged, never give up and never ever stop trying. Remember that successful people failed because they succeed.
