REACH OUT TO OTHERS

in #motivation7 years ago

One of the problems attached with the word ‘disability’ is that it immediately suggests ones inability to perform some primary activities expected of a whole human being. That's why we call people with the inability to walk(properly), see and do other things as disables.

Have you thought of people who have difficulty feeling things and managing emotions as disables??

Disability according to English dictionary is defined as the state of being disabled; deprivation or want of ability; absence of competent physical, intellectual, or moral power, means, fitness, and the like.

There are people out the that have difficulties expressing their feelings, people with the inability to manage their feelings/emotions. Also, I know of people who can't keep relationships due to their inability to manage people, some are scared of allowing people get too close to them.

We often neglect people who are confused and lost in life, people who have lost hope and finds no meaning to life, people who carry about bitterness and depression, people who doesn't seem to have a clue where they're headed to, we most times neglect these people forgetting the mind is the fulcrum of life.
I see these people as the real ones that needs more attention, deeper disables.

Trying to reach out but no one seem to be interested, crying out loud but no one seems to hear them. We see them around, they live with us, we eat together in the same restaurant, we board vehicles with them every single day.

But we have developed the ability to assume they don't exist, we have shut our eyes so long that we have become blind to them.

Fred Rogers who is the author of Important Things to Remember said:
I also believe many of us suffer similar cases,we are finding it difficult to fit in to the world around us.

I believe it's because we are going through similar issues that we have stopped reaching out to others. We feel we ourselves need help (which of course we do) and we stop seeing others. We long for love ourselves so we stop loving others if they won't love us back. We want something in return for whatever we want to give.

Life is beautiful but it can often be frustrating and annoying when you expect everyone to think and act like you or when you expect everyone to reciprocate the same amount/quantity of love and affection you give.

It's important to understand we human beings are different in all spheres, we might evolve from the same family or the same environment, that doesn’t mean we will act ,think or life will happen to us in the same way.

The moment you come into the understanding that we have different behaviours due to different backgrounds, you will set yourself free from all iota of hatred, bitterness and unnecessary expectations.

You will learn to live above depression because your self esteem will increase and you will not base your happiness on people, or events.
You will quit seeking for acceptance because you've learnt to love yourself and value yourself.

You will allow people to make certain mistake without judging them and accept everyone as they are,

they don’t have to deserve your love before you give it to them.

Learn to love unconditionally, it gives you inner peace and satisfaction, it gives you a mind that's free of bitterness

It builds your motivation and increase your efficiency, you are happy and you'll live well.

This is captivating. It brings to lights the apparent reason as to why we need to understand people before we conclude.

Truly, there is emotional disability and lack of assistance can push this bane in the darker ends of the tunnel without any hope of light.
