I do not believe that only a few people have the ability to lead. Every human being has the potential to lead, which means everyone is a leader in one way or the other. The only reason why people have a limited view of leadership is because we define leadership in terms of occupying positions.
In most parts of the world where leadership is view as occupying positions, you realize that the citizens feel powerless and hopeless, they then have no choice but to say "Our leader did this or our leaders did that", When they say our leaders, they are referring to those who occupy seats and positions neglecting the fact that everyone is a leader. How many people will be opportune to occupy a seat, how many people can be presidents? Only a few but we all are leaders in one way or the other.
Leadership is the ability to influence people to achieve goals with you. leadership is getting people to cooperate with you to achieve goals.
There is something I believe in which is "Two people will achieve more than four times one person will achieve"
The slave mentality is one thing that disturbs me a lot in most developing countries. The view of seeing leadership as occupying seats and positions has placed us as slaves. The skills and the kind of work needed to succeed as a slave is entirely different from the skills and works needed to succeed as a free person or leader. Leadership skills are needed to succeed as a leader.
Slaves are entitled to free and poor things and that is what most people in underdeveloped and developing countries expect. The is some of the poorest countries in the world are countries where people expect the government to do everything for them.
Leadership simply means influence and not ruling. Leadership is not politics. Some of the greatest leaders in the world are not politicians, it is based on influence.
You can lead.... If I can lead, then you can.
DO NOT FORGET STEEMIT IN NIGERIA (SIN)...
Thanks to @elyaque for my first badge
Hello @gbenga
The position does not make a Leader, A leader makes a Position.
What some leaders don't realise is that achieving goals does not come from taking up all the power, it comes from pushing authority down.
Thanks for sharing this.
@ogochukwu
True talk @ogochukwu, leadership is not based authority
I think people swap leaders with bosses everyone can be a boss- telling people what to do, but only a few can be leaders and show people what to do, not to tell them, boss tells from office what to do and leader is on a field first person in front lines!
Leaders are not Bosses, They are game changers who influence change
Thanks bro. Over here in steemit, we can also feel the impact your leadership qualities on the Nigeria steemians. Been a leader is a great work and matter of perspective. People see it from different view. Like our politicians sees it as a source of amassing wealth ignoring there followers, some turn their leadership to dictatorship... Even Mumu whatsapp group admin use to feel like one small demi god** because of one small post he/she has all in the name of keeping serenity.
LOL.... This is serious

I like the way you say it just somehow no one is offended. but permit me to say that this the missing gap int way our government deals with citizenry. I wish people like you can have a say. Am not sure you are a politician. Sad
Dear Gbenga, democracy wordwide has made us all born leaders but corruption in high places have made us forget this.

"Two people will achieve more than four times one person will achieve"
Nice Post 👏👏👏👏👏💯
Yah, I throw my full weight behind your view @gbenga
We all have the ability to make an impact in the society, unfortunately most people believe they must have an office, they must lobby, they must contest elections etc, before they can lead.
Thanks for the article.
A very good post sir. The leading position has been the one driving those in leadership positions. They do not allow themselves to lead from within.
