How To Get Motivated For The GYM

in #motivation8 years ago

Trust me I get it. It's so hard to stay focused and on track with going to the gym. I have fallen off the path of being physically fit to many times to count. But hopefully in this post I can share some tips that I follow to keep me on the path!

Tip 1: Visualize Your Success

This tip is really important to keep in your head. Try to imagine yourself at the end game. Imagine yourself with the 20lbs of fat off, Imagine yourself being able to lift 600lbs. Imagine. Imagine. Imagine. The more you imagine yourself here, the more likely it will become the reality.

Tip 2: Don't Do It Alone

This tip might make or break you. If you get a gym partner that isnt going to care if you just rewarded yourself with 3 Big mac's and a large fries for that 10 minute cardio session, maybe its time to start looking for a new partner that will get upset if you skip a day at the gym for no reason.

By having a partner, you will always have someone helping you and motivating you at and outside the gym.

Tip 3: Be Persistent

People say it takes 21 to 28 days to form a habit. So lets average it out to one month. If you push yourself to go to the gym and eat healthy chances are it will become your newfound lifestyle.

Tip 4: Celebrate Your Wins

You should celebrate all of your goals you accomplishment, big and small. I would recommend that you stay away from food rewards. Get yourself some new workout clothes or some new gym equipment! Those rewards will help you in the long run!

This is amazing advice for people like me who start slacking after a few days xD

Its hard when you have a girlfriend thats always hungry :(

Thanks for the Comment!

I definitely understand where you are coming from! But a big juicy steak after workouts arent always bad :P

Tip #1 is the MOST crucial of all the tips.

If you have a vision of how you want to look and what you want to be... everything will fall into place and the rest is up to your willpower to keep fighting for that vision.

There's a great motivational video, it's a speech from Arnold Schwarzenegger about how he envisioned his success.

Really great post man, I'll be following you, keep up the good work!
