Why Are Grandparents So Soft With Their Grandkids?

in #motherhood3 months ago

Lately, I’ve been observing something funny in my house.
My mum has been around, and my little boy has been so excited about her presence.

He is just all over her, from following her around, to dragging the TV remote with her, to getting angry at her and sorting it out with her.
And the funniest part? She lets him!

This is the same woman that used to give me “premium beating and lecture combo” when I was his age
Now she can’t even raise her voice at her grandson she just laughs and says, “leave my son alone for me, he’s still a child.”

And I’m like, “Ehn mummy, so I wasn’t a child when i wanted to watch carton and you asked me to go get my homework done ?”
But honestly, seeing my mum and my son bonding together really melts my heart.
Maybe that's what motherhood at this stage should be likepeaceful, more tolerant patience and plenty of soft love

Still, I wonder...
Why do parents suddenly turn to angels when they become grandparents?
Have you noticed this too? Or is it just my mum that switched to soft parenting?

Sort:

Those words grandparents " are deep, they always want the best for their grandkids, they want them to be happy always not minding if they are doing the wrong thing or not, the love is too much.

The love is massive oh

That's it, some of the things I assume that could soften their hearts is the knowledge, joy and the understanding that,
"so you are now a grandma 😂,?" They will be asking themselves,

they're always imagining what God has given them, it makes the heart glad and makes them to be very grateful to God who has made it possible, I think.

I guess that the reason for the love and softness

I guess so too.
