Back in my school days, I intentionally resumed late — usually a week after school officially resumed. Not because I hated school, but because I was dodging the famous first-day cleaning. Who wants to mop floors when you can enjoy one last week of freedom, right?

See his 😊😊 smile.
Fast forward to now — my son’s school resumed yesterday, and guess who applied the same logic? Me! I let him stay home to avoid that first-day clean-up (and to dodge the risk of catching a cough).
But today? This boy shocked me.
He brought out his uniform and school bag by himself, like, "Mummy, enough is enough!"
I had no choice but to get him ready and off we went.
On the way to school, you should have seen the excitement on his face. At the gate, the security man lit up when he saw him. In class, his teacher and classmates were literally screaming his name and hugging him.
My heart? Full.
And the best part? He's genuinely enjoying school and improving academically.
Me? I just stood there smiling like a proud (and slightly exposed) mummy
His smiling face shows that he is fully ready for the new term. Please don't transfer your dodging spirit to this little boy. 🤪😀
I wouldn't oh 😊😄
