The title is a phrase I see often... and I'm inclined to agree. I do live near the beach, so I might be biased. And although the nearby beaches are urban beaches, they do bring a sense of calm, even if surrounded by confusion.
If the urban part is small, and if the beach is in a tropical paradise, then it's even better. It's been a little over 7 years since I set foot in this sand, but I can still clearly remember this sunset and it's vivid colours, even if portrayed here in a #monomad challenge style.
Now, getting back to the better life at the beach part... will the kind of beach interfere? Do different beaches creat different senses of calm and joy, or none at all, depending on their kind? Or do we need just water and sand? Questions, so many questions.
What if there's no sand at all?
Some might not like it, but as for me, if there's a swimmable body of water and nature around, I'm good. More than good, actually: a mountain river in a natural park is pure bliss!
Even a river beach is enough for me; and 99% of the time, the less crowded, the better.
The above one, for instance, was where I chose to end most of my afternoons after hiking in a beautiful natural park in the northern part of my country; and after a day of hiking, these cold waters and the warm sand felt like heaven.
Of course, as my vacations approach, I also long for those far away tropical beaches.
I will only have a week off, so these are a bit far away for now... but maybe sooner than later I'll set foot on those sands, contemplating crystal clear waters again. For now, the nearby beaches will have to do. And regardless where I end up, I have no doubt life will be better at the beach, at least for the week!
