Is Steemit worth it?

in #money8 years ago

Hey hows it going everyone?

My names Kam Jennings, some people know me as ZeroFatz from my youtube channel which just crossed 13k subscribers (zerofatzreturns).  I just discovered Steemit yesterday and I am really interested in it as a viable way to help people make money online.

I would love to interview a few people who are earning actively on Steemit for my youtube channel.  I think it would be a triple win situation because my audience will learn more about this place, you will gain more exposure to what you do, and I get some great content for my youtube channel.

Hit me up in the comment section or email me at kamjenningspro@gmail.com if interested.  Thanks all!

You earn exactly $0 dollars for posting on any other social media site. If steemit were to earn you $0.01 it has already generated infinitely more for you then posting anywhere else. You can post your youtube videos here as you are the content creator, and allow for additional discourse between you and your viewers. They can also potentially earn a bit from commenting on your videos (which is not possible for them for making youtube comments). So yes, I would say steemit is worth it. At its very worst its no better than any other social media site, there is only upside to be found here.

good points man.

People talk about this site like its some sort of easy money machine, but it's really not. If you work hard and build your brand sure sometimes you get rewarded with a nice prize, but for the most part people don't see huge rewards. Because many were going around touting how easy it was to make money, these new users feel cheated. So you have to make sure if you choose to recommend it to your youtube followers, that you do it the correct way! Put it into a similar perspective like I did, any reward anyone gets is a bonus over what could be gotten anywhere else, because there for most users the reward is zero. Users should expect small rewards when they are new, that is how it works (and its exactly how it should be), your following will be small. If you post content on youtube, you don't get paid anything unless you get views. You can make the greatest video in the world but if nobody knows about it or you, you don't get rewarded. The same can be said for here really. As people become more well known, their rewards grow.

sounds reasonable man. Very similar to youtube in fact. I am just not extremely familiar with crypto-currencies.

No, it's not worth it. At least for me for now.

why so pompe? Would love to hear about your experience man. Is it too time consuming for too little payout?

You hit the nail right on the head. There are thousands of posts every day, but look at the one's making money. It has to do more with luck than quality.

Not for me either, seems like if you don't put in a ton of money or don't have high connects with those that do, you will be censored.

really? what do you mean by "be censored." Sorry just not super familiar with platform yet.
